About Nate
Hi, I'm Nate, a Computer Science undergraduate based in Bristol, with a passion for programming.
I have hands-on experience building real software projects, including AI game-playing algorithms, web applications, and automated API integrations. Using my real world skills I can show students how programming connects to the real world.
I attended In Hong Kong before moving to the UK, which gave me a strong academic foundation and experience working across different learning environments. I'm patient, approachable, and committed to making sure every student actually understands the material rather than just memorising it.
Outside of coding, I'm an active person who values discipline and consistency, qualities I bring to my tutoring sessions too. I look forward to helping people build real confidence in programming.

I am a Computer Science undergraduate with practical experience across Python, Java, web development, and AI — including independently built projects in API integration, algorithmic problem-solving, and software development.
I provide tutoring in Python, Java, and programming fundamentals for beginners and GCSE/A-Level Computer Science students.
Teaching approach
My sessions are structured around conceptual understanding rather than memorisation. I use a guided questioning style to help students work through problems independently, building lasting skills rather than short-term fixes. Each lesson is planned around the student's current level and goals.
Topics covered
• Python and Java for beginners through to exam level
• Programming fundamentals: variables, loops, functions, OOP
• Algorithms, data structures, and computational thinking
• GCSE and A-Level exam technique and past paper practice
Session details
Lessons are typically 1 hour, available online. I am flexible with timing and happy to work around school or university schedules.
I am particularly well-suited to students who find programming unintuitive or abstract, my focus is always on building genuine understanding from the ground up.
