About Daya
As a musician, I am extremely passionate about breaking the boundaries of classical music and focusing solely on classical repertoire. I have a goal to study jazz as a harpist, and find it important to incorporate each individual passion into my work as
a musician. I hope to inspire the same level of joy and love for the instrument in each individual I work with.
I have worked in various environments stemming from my city's Youth Symphony Orchestra for various years to performing as a guest performer for Gov. School and other events. Along with this, I have had a lot of experience in social settings whether background music gigs, other orchestras and symphonies with various guest conductors. I have been a member of the North Carolina Harp Ensemble around a total of 10 years, and have a lot of enjoyment working with other musicians. This also includes self-transcribed popular music recorded with friends and studiomates. The values learned over time by working in so many different musical settings I hope to incorporate in my work teaching!

The harp is something Im extraordinarily passionate about, and growing up I have always loved learning each and every thing about playing .As a current student reaching for a professional level, I hope to implement the things I’ve loved learning from various teachers growing up to new students looking to fuel the same passion. Depending on level, lessons should include repertoire learning, good practice techniques for learning, and the importance of musicality and expression.
