About Avery

I have been teaching private lessons and performing for the last 10 years. I have always loved music, playing guitar drums and bass since I was young up until now. Upon graduating UNC in 2018, I hit the ground running, working with multiple bands and and 100+ students to share the gift of music!

About the lesson

I enjoy the passion and happiness that I see in a student when they acquire skills they didn't even know they could achieve! I am committed to providing practical lessons to get students playing fun music as soon as possible!

Perfect! Working with Avery has been fantastic, and I am finally learning guitar at the level I have always wanted. Avery is a very easy going individual, and the lessons are always enjoyable. He has an impressive command of music theory and various styles of music. Not only that, but he is able to fluently communicate all of the complicated concepts into easy to understand pieces, making progress incredibly efficient compared to (attempting) self-teaching.

I came into the lessons with a couple of specific goals. I wanted to learn how to play some specific songs, wanted to learn how to improvise and solo over blues songs, and overall be able to play the acoustic guitar in an entertaining way. Avery has me making steady progress toward all of these after just a couple of lessons! Also, he is good at communicating and setting up virtual lessons.

Whatever type of lessons you need, Avery is your man. Well worth the time and price.

Perfect! I hired Avery to work with my 9 year old son on guitar. He is an extremely talented musician and has given me some great pointers on the drums as well. Avery has an excellent innate ability to relate with kids and has My son really motivated to learn! Playing is seamless for Avery, but he is able to break out down in an emphatic way that is easily relatable for people of all ages and abilities. We definitely recommend him for your learning music interests.

Lessons with Avery are always personalized and fit for my level. Avery explained everything in a manner that was easy for me to understand me allowed me to learn a lot about theory while progressing on my horn and embracing jazz. Highly recommend to anyone even if you don’t know a lot of theory he’ll make it easy for you to understand!
