About Loraine
Teaching exists because I find joy in watching a blank project file become a finished song. Sitting at my desk at 2 am with a laptop is where I spent 5 years refining my craft. I write and record music daily to keep my skills sharp for you.
My background at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music provided a strong foundation for my work. Having logged 5 years of experience, I now spend my time guiding adult learners and singer-songwriters through the digital landscape.
You will find me to be a relaxed mentor who values your specific creative voice above all else. Feedback is always honest and direct because I want you to succeed.
My main goal is ensuring you gain confidence with every new project you open. Songwriting and production can feel like a chore, but I make it a habit.
You will notice my process is straightforward and keeps things moving. Creating tracks should feel like a natural extension of your musical ideas. This is why I focus on practical techniques that work in any studio setting.

Opening your DAW for the first time feels like standing in front of a massive mixing console. We grab a project file and immediately look at the signal flow for your specific track.
My lessons cover home studio setup and tracking so you feel comfortable recording vocals at home. We will touch on EQ, compression, and reverb to make your rough ideas sound polished.
I enjoy explaining layering and texture so your songs feel wider. Logic Pro, Ableton, and FL Studio are all fair game for our workspace.
MIDI sequencing is often where the magic happens for my students. Working through these technical hurdles helps you stay in a creative flow. It is genuinely fun to hear a song transform from a simple demo into a professional-sounding track.
