About Betty
I have taught, mentored, tutored for over 25 years and those tutored are too many to count-it was a lot!
Students who became immersed in the course content and style seemed to thrive. The students could then take that confidence into other courses in their programs of study. There is nothing more rewarding for a teacher than to see one of their students walk across the stage and receive their diploma.

I live in Mesa AZ so I know what HOT really means. I received my Ph.D. in 1990 and have been teaching at the undergraduate/graduate level ever since. Along the way, I was a Licensed Counselor for practice, teaching, and supervision.
I use the discussion and question and answer (Socratic) methods the most. I prefer to engage students and bounce ideas off each other.
Students need to be encouraged to be confident when asking questions, know mistakes are opportunities to learn, realize that learning is a process, and come to grasp that learning through hard work and enjoyment are not mutually exclusive.
