I am a tutor with over 4 years experience. I have worked with students of all ages, from Primary to A-level, as well as university undergraduate students. I have a PhD in music composition, my specialty but I can teach all aspects of music. I studied saxophone to degree level and can teach beginners to grade five.
I have experience tutoring online as well as in person, one on one as well as small groups.
Whatever the topic of the session, I work at the students’ pace, breaking down the content to ensure understanding. With theory I come up with innovative ideas to help the student remember processes. With composition, and composition coursework I help develop the students musical voice with feedback on their work and give them compositional techniques to explore in order to improve their skills.
If your child is choosing to take exams we will work on exam questions and revision, ensuring they understand the marking scheme and what the examiners are looking for in their answers.
I will try to help them overcome any anxiety they may feel before exams.
I love music, and composing and it would be an honour to help you or your child embrace their love of music and creative side.
