I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Japanese and have 5 years of experience living in Japan. I am also JLPT level N2 certified.

I am highly familiar with the challenges involved in learning a new language as well as the rewards gained in doing so, as I have years of experience as a foreign language learner myself. As a teacher, I feel that it is important to reflect on those things along with the study methods that helped me when I was learning.
I work with students to determine which methods will best suit them. I am happy to work with learning materials that the student already has, or I can provide custom-tailored material based on their personal goals.
My objective is to help those who are beginning to study Japanese take things step by step and find joy in each little victory! Like a puzzle, learning a new language can be tricky, but it is also fun, and making progress feels great!

Perfect! Alexandra is very flexible and is willing to adapt lessons to fit my needs specifically. Although she comes to every session with a lesson plan prepared, she's happy to answer any questions I have (even if I go off topic), and is genuinely interested in helping me learn Japanese, at whatever pace I'm comfortable with. Learning with Alexandra has felt more like a discussion, with room for questions and feedback, rather than a lecture.
