About Derick
I've been working as a tutor for a company for one year now and have just recently started doing private tutoring. While in college, I volunteered at two elementary schools for a year and a half to gain experience working with students from different backgrounds. I've worked with about 30-50 students ranging from elementary all the way to high school. The students I have worked with have gotten new skills in approaching problems and have succeeded in their classes

I would describe my teaching approach as laid-back. I like to have fun with the topic and try to introduce it in a different way if possible. I try to make the whole learning process as fun as possible while still ensuring that the subject is taught. I value learning very much and I instill what I've learned and the techniques that I've used in the past unto the students. There are times where I provide extra practice and extra repetition on certain subjects because I believe not it's not enough to just know the topic, but I think that the student should be CONFIDENT with the topic.
