About Michael
I'm a Master's student in Computing at Queen's University, where I also work on research involving software and large language models. Before that, I completed an Honors degree in Computer Science at Western University and spent 16 months as a full-stack developer intern at IBM's Center for Advanced Studies, so I've seen how code works both in the classroom and on the job.
I first started coding in high school, and what began as curiosity quickly turned into something I genuinely love. That same enthusiasm is what I bring to tutoring, and what I will try to pass on to my future students.

My approach is built on patience and meeting you at your skill level. Rather than just handing over answers, I break complicated concepts into small, clear steps and work through hands-on examples so the material actually makes sense and sticks.
I typically use coding exercises as a way to teach as well. A typical lesson starts by figuring out what you're stuck on, whether that's a specific assignment, an upcoming exam, or a fundamental that never quite clicked. From there, we go through examples together, and then you take the lead while I guide, so you leave able to handle similar problems on your own.
I'm happy to teach anyone from high school to university level. Just let me know the course, and I'll tailor the lessons to it. I'm proficient in several languages, including React, Python, Java, C, C++, and JavaScript.
What sets me apart is that I'm genuinely patient and good at making confusing code feel manageable.
