About Oliver
I am studying a BSc degree at UCT starting 2020 whilst still getting involved musically wherever possible. I have yet to begin private teaching lessons but acted as a strong mentor towards junior players at SACS high school. I have preformed major trumpet concertos with professional orchestra accompaniment, have taken part in numerous school competitions and external eistedfodds, obtained my trinity grade 7 for musical performance, grade 5 ABRSM for musical theory and took music as a matric subject. Other notable achievements include active involvement in three school ensembles, received full colours for music and made it through to the final selection round for the national schools band in 2019.

My teaching philosophy is instilling a strong foundation of technical abilities and performance understanding of the instrument. Once this integral stage is reached one can begin to familiarise themselves with the numerous styles and genres of trumpet repertoire in order to culminate towards maximum efficiency on the instrument.
