About Edward

I started learning the trumpet at the age of seven and it has been my passion ever since. I played with youth bands and orchestras and went on to study trumpet performance at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. I recently graduated from the Royal College of Music with a Master of Performance degree . I have played with many symphony orchestras and ensembles as well as big bands and jazz ensembles and have enjoyed performing as a soloist.

I teach several pupils privately and help to conduct and mentor young players at a local youth band. I am keen to share my enthusiasm for the instrument and to help new and existing players enjoy their playing and achieve their musical goals.

About the lesson

I love to introduce the trumpet or other brass instruments to new players or to help students to develop and improve their technique and really enjoy their playing. I help students to learn a diverse repertoire and to understand music theory so that they can progress through exams if they wish. I have extensive experience of performing as a soloist and as an orchestral player and I will share tips and techniques and encourage students to perform.

My lessons are typically 30 minutes although I am happy to arrange longer lessons if that suits. I will give you guidance and help with practice between lessons so that you can progress fast with your instrument.
