About Katherine

My name is Katherine and I am passionate about helping learners reach their full potential. I hold a Bachelor's degree and will soon be beginning my teacher training as I work towards a career in education.

My experience in education began as a Teaching Assistant, where I supported students both individually and in small groups to build confidence and achieve their learning goals. I then progressed into a specialist Teaching Assistant role, working closely with autistic adults. This experience has strengthened my ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual needs, communicate effectively, and create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

I chose to pursue teaching because I believe education has the power to transform lives. I find it incredibly rewarding to help students overcome challenges, develop confidence in their abilities, and experience the satisfaction that comes with understanding something new.

As a tutor, I aim to create engaging, patient, and personalised learning experiences that build both knowledge and self-belief. Whether a student needs support catching up, preparing for exams, or extending their understanding, I am committed to helping them succeed and reach their potential.

About the lesson

**How I Structure My Tutoring Sessions**

I believe every student learns differently, so my lessons are tailored to each individual's needs, learning style, and goals.

Each session begins with a brief review of previous learning to reinforce understanding and identify any areas that need further support. I then introduce new concepts in a clear, step-by-step way, breaking down complex topics into manageable sections.

My lessons are highly interactive, encouraging students to ask questions, think critically, and build confidence in their abilities. I use a variety of teaching methods, including worked examples, guided practice, exam-style questions, and real-life applications where appropriate.

Throughout each lesson, I regularly check understanding and adapt my teaching to ensure students remain engaged and make steady progress. At the end of each session, I summarise key learning points, provide constructive feedback, and set targeted practice tasks where beneficial.

My aim is not only to improve academic performance but also to develop confidence, independent learning skills, and a positive attitude towards education.
