About Yvette
I studied the International Baccalaureate with English HL and I have always had a passion for English Literature and the power of language. I enjoy exploring classic texts, understanding different perspectives, and helping others discover the confidence to express their own ideas.
Alongside my legal career as a Trainee Solicitor, I have developed strong analytical, research and communication skills, which have strengthened my ability to interpret complex information and communicate ideas clearly. I want to share these skills with students and help them approach English Literature with greater confidence and curiosity.
I understand that English can sometimes feel challenging, especially when it comes to analysing texts and writing essays. My aim is to make lessons engaging, supportive and tailored to each student, helping them not only improve their grades but also develop a genuine appreciation for literature and writing.

I provide engaging English Literature lessons for GCSE and A Level students, focusing on classic texts, literary analysis and developing strong writing skills.
My approach is tailored to each student's needs, helping them build confidence in analysing themes, characters, language and context, while improving their ability to write clear, structured and persuasive essays. I encourage students to think critically about texts and develop their own interpretations rather than simply memorising answers.
Lessons typically last one hour and include close reading, discussion of key passages, essay planning, exam technique and personalised feedback to help students improve.
As a Law graduate and current Trainee Solicitor, I have developed strong analytical, research and written communication skills, which I bring into my teaching. My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A Level students looking to improve their grades, strengthen their writing, and gain a deeper appreciation of literature.
