About Hayley
I am a trained primary school teacher and have experience teaching in 6 schools full time ranging from KS2 up to GCSE. I have a keen interest in mathematics and English grammar.
I like to break down barriers and help people achieve in a fun and hard-working way. I am currently studying myself in counselling so I understand more acutely now how struggles manifest so we can look to removing the barriers to learning throughout the sessions. Please note that this is not a counselling session.

I'm a fun and enthusiastic person and this comes through in my teaching style. I believe in positive practice, working together initially to discuss the why behind the what. You are the learner so we will go at your pace. We can do lessons of 30 mins up to 1 hr to accomodate attention span and content coverage.
My method is to work on concepts of number, geometry and algebra by practising with questions generated on the spot or in advance. This could include practising the 4 operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication or division, working with fractions decimals and percentages, learning the vocabulary and information for shapes in 2D or 3D and much more.
After this, I would apply this knowledge to worded questions. We could also just have sessions based on reasoning if this is an area in which you struggle.
I have tutored in this subject throughout the pandemic, providing specialist additional help to children from my class.
I can teach up to Year 9 level Maths but am happy to tutor any age if you require this level of Maths.
