About Harry
Personal Approach:
I believe in connecting academic success with interest in a subject, guiding my students to leverage their own curiosity or help them discover it. I ensure my students see how each task fits into a broader academic context, reinforcing their understanding and making connections with their existing knowledge.
Recognising that every student is unique and learns differently, I've authored a book titled 'Rethinking Revision', which explores effective learning techniques for various subjects and individual learning styles. I promote a long-term revision strategy, incorporating this approach into the tasks I assign during and between sessions. This helps my students feel more in control during exams and leads to improved results.

Experience:
I've tutored students from ages 11 to university level from various countries like the UK, China, Germany, and the US, both online and in person. My long-term GCSE students typically improve by two grade boundaries, often scoring 8 or 9.
At A-Level, I'm experienced with various examination boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, CIE) and have a comprehensive knowledge of a variety of texts, writing styles, and historical periods. I also provide study materials to help students understand broader academic dialogues, increasing their chances of exceptional exam performance. I'm familiar with IB courses (HL and SL) in Language & Literature and Global Politics.
Most of my students have achieved an A/A* (A-Level), enabling them to attend their first-choice universities, including Oxford and Cambridge.
I have also assisted many students with university applications and interview preparation, covering subjects like Physics, Law, Economics and PPE. For interviews, I help with subject-specific and general interview skills.
