About Troy
My name is Troy, I live in the Sunshine Coast Qld, Australia and I became obsessed with the Tin Whistle back in 2009, when I was playing and learning for up to 3 hours per day. I have been in love with Celtic / Irish tunes since then and love the sound and physicality of the Irish / Tin Whistle. I sometimes perform on my whistle and have done some recording, but primarily play for my own enjoyment first. I also play a number of other instruments, including guitar, fiddle, Native Flutes, Didgeridoo and vocals and have had my time making bamboo flutes as well.

Tin whistle lessons with Troy are a process to learn to read sheet music and be able to map tunes onto your whistle. We'll cover all the basics such as fingering, breath, posture etc before getting you confident reading sheet music and playing on your whistle. Before, finally, letting the sheet music go and being able to play tunes off by heart. In the lessons, we cover all of the embellishments (Cuts, Rolls, Slurs, Triplets, Crans, etc etc) plus the different types of tunes (Reels, Jigs, Waltzes, Airs, etc etc)
