About Rhys
I started my musical journey in primary school on the saxophone. Since then, I picked up trumpet, began to study jazz at a tertiary level, began music tutoring, and I'm currently completing my final year of my Bachelor of Music - Jazz Performance (Trumpet). I work within local schools and privately, both group and individual lessons. I always ensure that my students are enjoying their music education, both in-class and generally. I aim to help my dedicated students flourish and exceed their own expectations. I'm excited to find more students who are passionate about music and eager to learn!

First and foremost, I ensure my students are enjoying their lessons and their musical journey in general, whilst still being productive. When relevant (for example, for students in a band), we can work through your assigned work - focusing specifically on areas you have questions about or are struggling with. I am also able to provide many more exercises and pieces of music from other sources to develop your skills. I can also create sheet music based on existing music that you would like to play. I am also here to support you with your learning journey in any way possible. I'm here to help achieve your goals (whatever they may be) and help you reap the benefits of learning music (such as improved mental health, decrease in stress, increased brain development).
