My name is Rhea and I'm a 20-year-old second-year student studying Irish and History in UCC, with plans of doing a master's in education afterward. I possess a strong love of the Irish language and want to make it easier, more accessible and fun for students!

I believe in getting back to basics! A lot of students are taught with a 'this does this and you don't need to know why, just know it' approach. I find this to be confusing and results in students having a poor foundation in Irish.
I focus on teaching the basics and incorporating them into exam prepwork- highlighting where it comes up on the paper, how it can help them maximise their result.
I place a large emphasis on oral work for Leaving Cert students (with it being 40% of the exam), and a lot of work geared towards grammar and sentence structure for every level. Along with this I provide notes on poetry, prose, essays, grammar and everything else needed for the students exam.
My average lesson is 1 hour but this can be extended if needed. Goals are set with student on day one and we will work gradually towards it together.
