About George
# Welcome to Warehousing & Logistics!
# Who I Am
My name is **George Finane**, and before anything else, I want you to know one thing: **I am not just someone reading to you from a textbook.** My background comes from years on the front lines of operations, supply chain, and logistics. I have managed fast-paced warehouse floors, overseen multi-site distribution, wrangled complex Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and handled the day-to-day chaos of getting products where they need to be, exactly when they need to be there.
I’ve lived through peak-season pressure, tight SLAs, system migrations, supply chain bottlenecks, and the ever-changing demands of modern distribution and circular economy networks. I know what works on paper, and more importantly, I know what actually works on the warehouse floor when things get busy.
---
# Why Logistics and Warehousing?
Most people outside our industry take the world for granted. They tap a button on their phone, and a package arrives at their door twelve hours later. They walk into a supermarket, and fresh goods are sitting neatly on the shelf.
They don't see the massive, intricate, high-tech engine that makes modern life possible. **We do.** Warehousing and logistics are the invisible backbone of the entire global economy. It’s not just about "moving boxes" or driving forklifts—it is a sophisticated mix of data analytics, advanced WMS tech, spatial efficiency, team leadership, regulatory compliance, and strategic problem-solving. It is also one of the most recession-proof, future-proof career paths you can possibly choose.
---
# Why I Want to Teach You
I am teaching this course because I want to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world execution.
When you leave this course, I don't just want you to pass an exam—I want you to be able to step onto a warehouse floor or into an operations office on Day 1 and actually know what you are doing. I want to pass on:
* **Battle-Tested Practicality:** The real-world tricks, shortcuts, and best practices that only come from years of hands-on experience.
* **Systems & Efficiency:** How to leverage technology, inventory control, and WMS software to make operations run like clockwork.
* **Problem Solving:** How to keep your cool, make fast decisions, and lead a team when something inevitably goes wrong in the supply chain.
Logistics is fast, dynamic, and incredibly rewarding if you know how to navigate it. My job over the coming weeks isn't just to teach you the subject—it’s to prepare you to step straight into industry with confidence, competence, and a massive head start over the competition.
Welcome to the class—let’s get to work!
