About Theo

I am passionate about psychology and I hope to encourage many new young students with an interest in the same field. I have experience working in higher education which helps me tutor students based on their individual needs and interests. I believe students set the pace in their own learning and I adjust my teaching style accordingly. If you feel confident to learn and push yourself beyond your peers, I am happy to help encourage and push you further. Conversely, if you are finding psychology to be challenging, I'm equally happy to be patient and ensure that you feel confident in your fundamentals before moving onto more complex theories and knowledge.

About the lesson

I understand that students each have their own skill levels, areas of strength and areas they would like to focus on. I treat each student as an individual and I like to develop a unique learning plan for each student. Your input helps inform my teaching method of how to best present new information and knowledge in addition to setting homework tasks where requested. The lessons are based on your interests, areas you would like to improve and the level of education you're currently studying at. Be that A-Level, GCSEs and their relevant equivalents or if you're already at University, I welcome learners of all levels. In addition to psychology content, I can also provide further information and knowledge regarding psychology-related technologies such as fMRI, EEG and CAT scans or I can help discuss possible job opportunities, placements and other professional skills important within the field. I teach classes on a 1-1 basis online, I offer lessons between 1 hour to 2 hours long depending on your availability. However, this is of course flexible should you have any urgent assessments, exams or tests you would like further help preparing for. In addition to sharing learning materials, I am also happy to prepare and share homework tasks depending on your own learning preferences. I also strive to make myself readily available online so that students may ask questions regarding tasks set, learning materials covered or any other general enquiry. I am new as a tutor and wishing to be respectful for students in the learning process, I try to charge as low as possible to make sure lessons are available and have a low barrier to entry. In terms of education, I hold an MSc in social and applied psychology and an undergraduate in psychology. I also hold industry work experience from both volunteering and previous experience as a research assistant.
