About Nick
My tutoring expertise is tailored towards examination techniques for specific units, in both GCSE and A-Level syllabuses, to help candidates improve exam performance by focusing on key techniques: breadth study, depth study, interpretation, source assessment, as well as Coursework support. I've plenty of experience with the following GCSE and A-Level boards: Edexcel, AQA, ORC and CIE. I have also been an examiner for the AQA board in History. Further, I have written two exam technique primer books on courses on Weimar and Nazi Germany.

I'm a retired history tutor with a great deal of experience at helping students get through and succeed at GCSE, AS- and A2-Level courses in Modern History, Classical Civilisation and Philosophy. In terms of my History teaching background, before semi-retirement, I was a Tutor in Modern History, Classics and Ancient History at several well-known London Independent Sixth-Form Colleges.

Dr. Nick helped me a lot by understanding what errors I have made with my history essays and tells me exactly where I should improve. He has strived to make my skills much better than they were before. He is a very professional tutor.
I have used a number of tutors for my 7 children before and Nick is exceptional. He puts a great deal of time and thought into lesson preparation to ensure that my son gets really valuable help and support. The detailed feedback he gives on written assignments is excellent and he focuses on where he can really add value (exam technique and essay technique) rather than simply on reciting facts.
