About Amelia
I’m a TEFL-certified tutor, Chartered PR Practitioner and award-winning communications professional with an MSc from the University of Edinburgh (Future Governance) and an MA from the University of Glasgow (Modern Languages). I have extensive experience teaching students of a range of ages and levels.
I have prepared students for exams and supported them with a wide range of academic writing, including essays, articles and dissertations. I have also helped students strengthen their overall English language skills, critical thinking and confidence in expressing their ideas clearly and effectively.
With over 10 years of teaching experience, my work has spanned multiple countries, languages, age groups and grade levels. I have taught English at a university in Chile, a French high school, with Language4Water in Glasgow and in Poland, where I worked with students aged 11–18.
Having experienced language learning both as a student and as a teacher, I appreciate the different ways in which students learn. I aim to adapt my teaching to each individual, finding the approaches that work best for them and ensuring they get the most out of every lesson.
I offer flexible, personalised tuition tailored to each student’s needs, level and goals. Whether they'd like to develop English language skills and communication skills, help prepare for exams, work on academic essays or creative writing, I can adapt my approach to suit.
Alongside my career, I’m an artist, poet and songwriter — nominated for BBC Scotland Introducing Artist of the Year. I bring a creative and engaging approach to writing, language and communication.

I teach in a clear, engaging and enjoyable manner, while maintaining a professional and focused approach.
I begin tutoring with an initial assessment to understand the student’s current level, needs, goals and learning preferences. From there, we create a structured and personalised learning plan tailored to their individual objectives.
I adapt my lessons according to each student’s level, interests and goals, ensuring that sessions are both purposeful and enjoyable.

I'm happy to recommend Amelia: she's well prepared and creative in her lessons. She is professional in all aspects of her work
As her mother, I can vouch for Amelia’s skill and enthusiasm. She loves everything about learning languages, from practical application to embracing different cultures. A year’s teaching in a university in Chile honed her teaching skills. She had lots of success and her students loved her dedication and attention to detail, and particularly appreciated her making learning fun and interesting for them.
As a friend of her family, I have known Amelia all her life. She is an outgoing and engaging young woman who recently spent a year in Chile teaching English. Amelia is popular, friendly, easy-going and has a wicked sense of humour! She is mature, intelligent and a very talented musician. I'm sure Amelia will be a great tutor because she is hard-working, honest and reliable and engages well with people. I think her style will make lessons stimulating, absorbing and fun as well as instructive.
Amelia has a huge range of teaching experience and an excellent grasp of grammar. She is well organised and, as a language learner herself, knows the common difficulties and pitfalls of language learning. Millie has helped me hugely with my Spanish and I'd recommend her to anyone!
