About Sophy
My name is Sophy Pitseng. I’m really passionate about learning new things, and I find so much joy in the excitement and relief I see when a student finally understands a topic or can finally pronounce a word correctly.
That’s a big reason why I love tutoring Afrikaans. Language can feel intimidating at first, but I enjoy creating a supportive space where students feel comfortable to try, make mistakes, and grow. I encourage active participation and independence so that students don’t just memorise Afrikaans, they actually start using it and enjoying it.
For me, teaching is about laying that foundation while having fun, and celebrating those small wins together.
