About Erfan
I am a:
- Mechatronics Engineering graduate from the University of Waterloo
- Professional Software Engineer with a diverse portfolio, specializing in mathematical applications
I have been private tutoring for over 5 years now. I have a way of explaining things in very simple terms, I genuinely don't think math is that hard if you understand what's happening. The problem, in my opinion, is students aren't taught the foundations, they're taught the final equations. For math, this means a lot of students are left confused when they hit calculus or university level math.
I'm also really good at math to back it up.
University Math Courses: 93 in Calculus 1, 90 in Calculus 2, 86 in Linear Algebra
Highschool Level:
- I got a 1510 on my SATs (790/800 in math)
- Level 5 (out of 5) on my AP Calculus (BC)
- 100 in my Grade 12 AP Calculus & Vectors
- 98 in my Advanced Functions class

- Straight forward lessons, no throwing a bunch of terms at you to confuse you. Learn the math first, learn the right words to use after
- Doing practice problems together so we can figure out where in you're thinking you went wrong rather than focusing on the fact that you got them wrong
- If you're just trying to cram for your exam though, I got you covered. We'll get so much math into your head. It's still important you understand the things we cover though, so you can apply your learnings to all kinds of problems
- Speaking of, I have tons of tips on productive work habits and effective study skills if you need them

Perfect! This is probably the best tutor I have ever had, and I also tutor students myself.
Perfect! Erfan tutored me first year calculus for life science and despite the course being specific to science, he still understood all the concepts really well. He knew how to break down concepts very well and was very kind and patient. Very good tutor. I 100% recommend Erfan!

Perfect! Erfan is an excellent tutor. He has been helping my daughter in university Calculus. According to her, he is very straight forward and clear with his explanations and doesn't give superfluous information.
