About Inna
I grew up in Siberia, Russia, and when I tell someone where I'm from, people get confused to find that I don't have a Russian accent at all. I know it sounds like I'm showing off, but these two languages are very different, and if I managed to do it, so can you! I've studied academic English in school back at home, including Past Perfect Continuous and other tenses that I was shocked to discover are never used in casual, normal English in Britain. Having had such a thorough education with a strong accent on English grammar, I was disappointed to find out that no one actually cares about the rules, and even English natives don't know what I'm talking about when I refer to things like passive voice and so on. And so I decided that I'll sound normal no matter what, regardless of the rules! Fast forward few years from settling here, now I get mistaken for a Brit on a daily basis. My point is that you don't have to have a long and difficult path like I did, and you can become an English speaker by learning from others' mistakes and save yourself lots and lots of precious time!
