About Lycoris Lili
I love helping others learn a language because in my ideal world there would be no miscommunication. I hope that more people will have access to more opportunities, hobbies, and enjoyment by knowing more languages. I love the complexities and variation between languages and cultures and seeing the influence it has on communication and relationships.

• As part of my degree I had to learn French for 3 years
mais Je déteste les cours de français,
• so I jumped ship and I’ve been enjoying learning Japanese instead.
私の悪い日本語を許してください
• I’m enthusiastic about helping others learn English because there are so many opportunities not available if one can’t use English.
• My TEFL certificate from 2016 & my work as both a private tutor and university supplementary instructor has aided me in becoming more proficient in teaching.
My preferred teaching methods include
1. The grammar-translation method,
2. Communicative competence by Hymes which focuses not only on grammatical correct sentences but also the context in which they should be used,
3. The systematic-functional grammar method by Halliday
4. And Communicative Pedagogy by Heinz which is based on the needs of learners.
In my lessons learning occurs through a process of exposure, understanding, imitation, reinforcement, and habit formation.
I have access to several textbooks that I am excited to share with my learners and my lessons will always include a digital presentation, activities, and small assessments. All materials will be available to students to review at their leisure.
