About Jan
I am a 22-year-old guitarist, singer-songwriter, and saxophonist. I have recorded several albums and singles with my two bands. I also work as a science journalist and I am a student at the University of Edinburgh. In my guitar teaching, I emphasise practical skills necessary for any type of musical performance - no matter if my clients want to cheer up a bunch of friends at a campfire, play in classical music concert halls or entertain a crowd in a music club. I believe that music is more about genuine enthusiasm than meticulous perfectionism and that with the knowledge of only a few guitar chords and scales, and the right mindset, anyone can create a powerful artistic experience.

I believe that music is more about genuine enthusiasim and creativity than meticulous perfectionism. With the right mindset, a powerful artistic experience can emerge from the mere knowledge of several chords or scales. I want my clients to understand what they are playing and why, but most importantly, I want them to have fun and enjoy their music performance.
The first lesson is free. Half of it is dedicated to finding out what type of music my clients like and what they would like to achieve. I am more than happy to share what I’ve learnt during my long classical guitar experience. I am also thrilled to help people play their favourite songs at a campfire or during nice evenings with friends. More advanced players may like to find out more about the basics of jazz standards and improvisation. For those who would like to get more into band playing, I can share my experience of years in jazz and indie bands.

Jan has so much experience with guitar and Music in general! He's the lead singer of StayJ, plays the Sax and dabbles on the piano too. He understands music and performance in a way only few do. I cannot recommend him enough!
