About Travis

Travis Swinford earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education with a vocal emphasis from Millikin University. While at Millikin, Travis toured internationally, nationally, and regionally with the renowned Millikin University Choir. At the same time, he was also a member of OneVoice, Millikin's premier vocal jazz ensemble, with whom he performed at the American Choral Directors Association's National Convention. As a soloist, Travis has had the distinction of participating in master classes with international opera singers Alan Held and Rebecca Davis. After graduation, Travis adjudicated district and all-state music competitions while performing in Central Illinois. Travis moved to Chicago in 2014, where he has performed regularly as a professional soloist and ensemble member. When he is not singing, Travis enjoys listening to music, watching comedic movies and TV shows, cooking, and spending time with his cat, Mister.

About the lesson

I use elements of classical and contemporary vocal techniques such as bel canto and speech level singing to help students of all ages, levels, and voice types produce a natural, free sound that is healthy and sustainable.

Lessons typically begin with warmups and vocal exercises chosen based on the student's goals, repertoire, and areas of improvement. Then we will apply what we learned from the exercises to your repertoire.

I appreciate all styles of music and would love to help you find your best, most authentic sound, no matter the genre of music you want to sing.
