About Kim
I enjoy working with children either one-on-one or in small groups where assistance can be tailored to specific needs. As I teach foundation phase on a daily basis, tutoring would be a continuation of my day - I am more than equipped and skilled to assist young learners.
I believe in never raising my voice and establishing a bond with each child so that we are able to work together as a team.
Building confidence in abilities is a priority. I find that once we have that, the learning just flows.

I tailor lessons to suit the child, working verbally / on whiteboards / pencil and paper. Sessions are engaging and fun and won't feel like a chore for your child. I'm happy to assist with homework completion as well as:
ENGLISH
Reading is the most imporant skill, so this is where we'll start as well as focusing on phonics / spelling. We can incorporate compehension skills as well as creative writing into lessons, too.
AFRIKAANS
We'll use stories, pictures and textbooks as secondary resources, focusing on conversation and the verbal form of the langauge as the basis of lessons. I will work on extending your child's vocabulary and klanke skills, then progress to reading and writing.
MATHS
I'll focus on the core skills of number concept / awareness, counting, and basic calculation strategies. We will progress onto application of knowledge in problem solving.
ADDITIONAL
Happy to assist with homework completion as well as preparation for assessments.
