About Jennifer
Hi, my name is Jen. I am a piano and music theory teacher with over 30-years teaching experience. I teach from my home in Chelmsford, Essex where I live with my wonderful husband and children.
As I have a lot of teaching experience, I am able to adapt the teaching method to the student, as everybody learns differently and at different rates and should never be made to feel that they aren’t doing something right. I teach all ages and abilities, whether that be for grades or simply for fun.

I teach students of all ages and abilities and plan lessons according to your own goals and what you want to get out of your learning. Whether this be to gain ABRSM grades, help with school exams, or simply for the enjoyment of the instrument, together we will accomplish these aims and have a lot of fun along the way. I am a great believer that you need to enjoy the instrument you play in order to be successful at it. That is why I tailor my lessons to the individual, based on how you learn and where you want to go with it. A lot of planning goes into the lessons in order for you to get the most out of the time spent with me and so that you are able to use your practice time to the best of your ability.
I teach various styles of music, from classical, folk, pop and even Disney songs (for the younger students) in their journey to becoming accomplished musicians. I truly believe you learn from each piece and each style.
