About Yekaterina
My name is Katya, I’m 42 years old, and I am a mother of two children, whom I also teach Hebrew as their second language. I have extensive experience working with children in both formal school settings here in California and informal learning environments in Israel and other countries. My passion is helping children love learning and stay curious. I believe lessons are most effective when they are fun, engaging, and adapted to each child’s needs. I enjoy hiking, dancing, and listening to music.

My teaching method is playful, engaging, and personalized. I teach Hebrew through storybooks, games, songs, and interactive activities that make language learning enjoyable and natural. I believe that children learn best when they feel comfortable, confident, and connected to their teacher.
A strong relationship with the student is at the heart of my approach. I place great importance on getting to know each child, understanding their needs, abilities, and goals, and creating a clear set of expectations together. When students feel supported and experience success, they remember better, stay motivated, and enjoy the learning process.
Typical Lesson Plan
• Warm-up conversation or short game
