About Nora
Negar earned her BA in Art Studio in 1997 and her MFA in Arts & Visual Technology, both from George Mason University.
Artistic Approach
Her work weaves together classical Persian motifs with modern design and technique, bridging the aesthetics of East and West. Her love for art began at a young age through a fascination with the intricate patterns of Persian and Islamic art, which she later learned to integrate with modern graphic design — creating a style that blends tradition with contemporary sensibility.
As an Educator
With over 20 years of experience as a graphic designer and educator, she teaches students the importance of meeting deadlines and navigating real client work. In her teaching, she fosters a creative environment where students develop design foundations, learn to express their own artistic voice, and build the critical eye to improve their work.
Recognition
Her digital printmaking work was featured among 50 award-winning pieces selected from thousands of international entries in a published Wiley book on digital art techniques. She also does Arabic and Persian calligraphy and has led workshops and talks about the beauty of calligraphy and the importance of beautiful writings in our lives.
