About York
With over a 15 years of Piano teaching experience, I have guided students of all ages—from school children to college learners and working professionals. My mission is to help students learn piano in a structured, personalised, and enjoyable way, while building confidence, discipline, and a love for music.
My teaching philosophy emphasises strong fundamentals, clear explanations, and consistent practice. I teach proper hand positioning, finger technique, rhythm, sight reading, and music theory while encouraging creativity and personal expression. Lessons are explained in simple English and reinforced with practical exercises, familiar songs, and demonstrations to make learning effective and engaging.
I adapt lessons to each student’s age, skill level, and goals. For younger learners, lessons are fun and interactive. For adults and professionals, sessions are structured, goal-oriented, and flexible. Over the years, many students have performed confidently, passed music exams, and developed a lifelong love for piano. Helping students achieve their musical goals is my proudest achievement.

My teaching methodology is centred on compassion, supportiveness, and effective communication. I believe learning is most effective when students feel encouraged, understood, and supported. In piano lessons, I combine structured technical practice with creative exercises to develop skill, confidence, and musical understanding.
I tailor lessons to each student’s pace and learning style, provide demonstrations, and encourage active participation, experimentation, and questions. Constructive feedback and positive reinforcement help students stay motivated and inspired.
I also teach other relevant subjects using the same flexible, student-centred approach, making lessons interactive, engaging, and meaningful. My goal is to help students grow academically and creatively, build confidence, and enjoy a lifelong journey of learning, music, and self-expression.
