About Lily
I am a dedicated piano tutor with 7 years of experience and a successful record of teaching around 300 students, including high school learners, college students, and adults. My lessons focus on helping students strengthen technical skills, musical understanding, and performance confidence while nurturing creativity and self-expression.
My teaching philosophy emphasises proper posture, hand coordination, finger independence, scales, arpeggios, rhythm, sight-reading, and musical interpretation, ensuring students develop both technical mastery and emotional connection with their music. Lessons are carefully structured with warm-ups, technical exercises, theory, and repertoire practice, and I provide guidance for effective home practice to maintain steady progress.
Many students have performed successfully in recitals, competitions, and school events, while several have earned high distinctions in graded examinations. My goal is to inspire students to become confident, expressive, and skilled pianists who enjoy music and grow continuously in their musical journey.

My piano teaching methodology is built on a strong foundation of Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I believe that each student learns music in a unique way, and understanding this difference is the first step towards success.
At the beginning of our journey, I carefully assess the student’s current level, strengths, challenges, and preferred learning style. Some students learn best by reading sheet music, others by listening and repeating, and some through practical demonstration.
I adjust my teaching approach to match these preferences so learning becomes natural and effective. I focus on building solid fundamentals such as correct posture, relaxed hand position, finger independence, scale fluency, rhythm accuracy, and expressive interpretation.
Complex compositions are divided into smaller, manageable sections to prevent frustration and encourage steady progress. Flexibility allows me to adjust lesson pace and strategies whenever needed. Through collaboration, students actively participate in setting goals and choosing repertoire that inspires them.
I create a positive and supportive environment where mistakes are viewed as part of growth. In addition to piano performance, I teach music theory, ear training, sight-reading, keyboard harmony, and music appreciation to develop confident and well-rounded musicians
