About Dylan
I am a dedicated flute tutor who loves helping students of all ages develop technical skill, creativity, and confidence. My teaching combines mentorship, critical thinking, accountability, and creativity to ensure steady progress. I focus on tone, phrasing, rhythm, and breath control while encouraging expressive musicality. I also include music theory, sight-reading, and ear training to develop complete musicianship. Creativity is emphasised through improvisation, composition, and musical storytelling. I guide students to set goals, practise consistently, and monitor their progress. Mistakes are treated as valuable learning opportunities and steps towards improvement. I adapt lessons to each student’s pace, skill level, and personal interests.
I act as a mentor, offering guidance, motivation, and constructive feedback. Lessons balance technical skill-building with creative exercises to keep students engaged. I emphasise reflection, problem-solving, and independent thinking in all lessons. My goal is to build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love for music. I also teach related subjects such as theory, rhythm, and performance preparation. I create a positive and inspiring environment where students feel safe to experiment. My ultimate aim is to help students become expressive, confident, and passionate musicians.
