About Sydney
Dr. Sydney Phillips’ (she/her/hers) professional background is in education, teaching, mental health support, college advising, project management, leadership, and facilitation. A 2013 graduate from the University of Utah, she went on to earn a Master's degree in Special Education from Dominican University while teaching high school on Chicago's west side. After Chicago, she returned to Utah and completed an Educational Doctorate in Education Leadership and Policy from the University of Utah. She is a proud alumna of AmeriCorps and is passionate about equity, service to a cause greater than self, and using her privilege to elevate the voices of those most impacted. In addition to her work at the University of Utah, Dr. Phillips is a Director for a local non-profit, supporting local communities in cradle-to-career strategies and results. When not enjoying her work, Dr. Phillips is spending time with her family and friends, enjoying the Utah outdoors, traveling as much as possible, attending concerts, and listening to true crime podcasts.
