About Julian
I am a Bachelor of Performance (Classical Piano) student at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where I study piano under Dr. Paul Rickard-Ford. I have a strong passion for classical piano and am particularly interested in the Romantic and late-Romantic repertoire.
I have two years of experience teaching piano and enjoy working with students of different ages and abilities. I believe every student learns differently, so I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students can develop their skills while also enjoying the music they play.
Whether a student is completely new to piano, working towards an examination, or looking to develop their playing at a more advanced level, I enjoy helping them work towards their individual goals and become more confident and independent musicians.

My lessons are personalized to each student’s age, level, interests and goals. I teach beginners through to advanced students, whether they are learning piano for enjoyment, preparing for AMEB examinations, or developing more advanced performance skills.
Lessons combine repertoire, technical exercises, music theory, aural and musicianship skills, with the balance adapted to each student. For younger beginners, I use resources such as Faber Piano Adventures and Lina Ng’s Theory Made Easy for Little Children to develop practical playing and fundamental theory together. As students progress, lessons can focus more deeply on technique, interpretation, sight-reading, theory, musical expression and performance.
For advanced students, I can work towards higher AMEB levels or coach individually selected non-exam repertoire, with an emphasis on musical maturity, stylistic understanding and developing independence as a musician.
I have two years of piano teaching experience and am currently studying a Bachelor of Performance (Classical Piano) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Lessons are conducted online and are designed to be supportive, engaging and suited to each student’s individual pace and goals.
