About Ryen Belle
I have been a musician for as long as I can remember. I first started playing the piano when I was four years old and performed for the first time that same year - a piece that I had taught myself. Growing up I eventually picked up the recorder, the guitar, and finally the violin. I was living in Germany at the time, and first started taking violin lessons with a luthier, and although I won't go into our story much, I remember fondly of the year or so that I got to learn and enjoy making music with him. During this time, I quickly progressed between my school's orchestras before my family moved to the U.S. Here, I started lessons with the renowned Dr. Emily Hannah Crane who is a Suzuki-registered teacher and studied under Eliot Chapo, Gary Kosloski, and other violin virtuosos.
Throughout my middle and high school years, I became heavily involved with various orchestras and violin-performance opportunities across town as well as the state of Tennessee, including the Austin Peay State University Symphony Orchestra, various local honor orchestras, and Tennessee Music Education Association's Mid-State Orchestra and All-State Orchestras (4x total).
During this time, in addition to growing my classical and ensemble music repertoire, I gained experience in the improvisational and religious music field as a violinist (and pianist) - through my musical participation at my local church. This eventually led me to play in various churches and denominations across town, allowing me to continue my musical performance style in religious and sacred music throughout my undergraduate years at Belmont University (as a science major, during which I also played with the Belmont Symphony Orchestra and participated in Christmas at Belmont).
In addition to my vast experience in the orchestra and religious music setting, my musical performance style has allowed me to perform and tour with local Nashville musicians Jerry O and TK Rose, as well as record with local Country and Folk musicians.
One of the best advices that I ever received was - if you make a mistake - just keep going. The second-best advice: go out and perform. These two pieces of advice are essential to getting rid of stage-fright - even if you're only planning on playing for friends. Let me help you become a great musician!
