Why Work With Me?

I bring a wealth of experience from both the fashion industry and education. From working for my own brand, teaching fashion at Leeds Arts University to helping establish the JCA | London Fashion Academy, my career has been shaped by a deep commitment to supporting creativity and innovation.

Who am I ?
I’m Susan Dillon- Holloway , an experienced, professional, fashion creative, mentor and author with a passion for guiding both young aspiring designers and mature students looking to enhance their skills and confidence in the world of fashion.

My career has been defined by my love for education and creativity, including my role in helping to establish the JCA | London Fashion Academy in collaboration with Professor Jimmy Choo. As a key member of the set up team together, we built a revolutionary institution designed to empower future generations of designers, blending innovative design education with the entrepreneurial skills needed to thrive in today’s fashion industry.

I am also the author of ‘The Fundamentals of Fashion Management’, a book that provides an accessible and inspiring guide for anyone seeking to understand the challenges and opportunities of the modern fashion landscape. With a focus on blending creativity with real-world business knowledge, it’s a resource for students and professionals alike who want to turn their passion into a meaningful career.

I specialise in ‘personalised one-to-one tuition and mentoring’, creating a safe and encouraging environment for aspiring designers and mature students to grow their skills and develop their unique creative voices. My sessions are flexible and tailored to meet your specific goals, helping you unlock your full potential.

- Portfolio Preparation: Gentle guidance on helping you craft and curate your portfolio (digital or physical) to showcase your creativity and individuality, whether you’re applying to higher education or starting a new career.

- Project Support: Practical advice and a listening ear to guide you through creative and academic projects, from help with final projects and essays, fashion drawing and illustration techniques, design ideas to final execution.

- Fashion Management & Business Mentoring: Thoughtful advice for budding entrepreneurs and those looking to understand how to launch or grow a sustainable and meaningful fashion brand.

How My Pay Rate Works

My pricing is based on an hourly rate for an online session, with some flexibility to suit your needs.

Sessions can also be delivered on location at this fee, however if a studio space is required for pattern cutting or sewing classes, this will be an additional fee .

For students attending this type of session I will provide access to a domestic machine and basic pattern cutting materials (though you are welcome to bring your own machine if you prefer).

Every session is tailored to your goals, ensuring you receive personalised and valuable guidance. Feel free to reach out to discuss specific pricing and packages that align with your requirements.
