About Scarlett
I am a USA-based female violin and strings tutor with 5 years of online live teaching experience helping K-12 students, beginner musicians, high school learners, and college first-year students improve violin, viola, and cello performance skills. I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts in String Performance and Music Education with additional studies in beginner orchestra instruction and student performance coaching. I enjoy helping students feel comfortable and motivated while learning music through supportive one-to-one online lessons!
I received the “Moonbeam Strings Mentor Ribbon” and the “Royal Aria Teaching Crest” for excellence in beginner string coaching and interactive student learning programs. My specialties include Violin Performance, Viola Ensemble Skills, Beginner Cello Coaching, Intonation Training, and Performance Confidence Development. I focus on simplifying difficult string techniques into easy-to-follow lessons so students can improve steadily while enjoying the learning experience. My teaching style is friendly, patient, and focused on helping students build confidence step-by-step!
Outside teaching, I enjoy horseback riding, visiting local flower farms, reading historical fiction novels, knitting handmade blankets during winter evenings, and attending outdoor symphony performances across the USA. These hobbies help me stay creative and relaxed while bringing positive energy into every lesson. I always work to create a welcoming and encouraging classroom atmosphere where students feel supported and excited to learn music comfortably!

My online one-to-one live violin, viola, and cello lessons are designed for K-12 students, high school learners, college first-year students, and all age groups who want patient and supportive string instruction. I focus on helping students improve confidently while learning in a calm and encouraging environment. Many beginners feel nervous about posture, bow control, note reading, or tone quality, so I explain every concept step-by-step using simple examples and guided practice methods. Students can also send practice recordings, school orchestra music, performance pieces, or technical questions before class so I can prepare customized lessons according to their individual needs!
I teach Violin Performance, Viola Basics, Beginner Cello Skills, Bow Control, Intonation Practice, Music Reading, Rhythm Development, Ear Training, Ensemble Preparation, and Performance Confidence Building. My lessons are interactive because I believe students learn faster when they feel comfortable participating and asking questions during class. I simplify difficult string techniques into manageable exercises so students can practice without frustration or confusion. Some students enjoy classical music while others prefer cinematic music or beginner orchestral arrangements, so I personalize lessons according to student interests and learning goals!
During classes, I focus on building confidence through positive encouragement and structured guidance. I provide warm-up routines, finger placement exercises, rhythm drills, bowing practice, and beginner performance activities to help students improve gradually. I also help students prepare for school orchestra programs, beginner recitals, string ensemble auditions, and introductory college music activities. My teaching style combines patience, support, and interactive learning so students can enjoy improving without unnecessary pressure!
I believe every student deserves a friendly teacher who explains music clearly and encourages steady growth. My goal is to help students become more comfortable and expressive performers while enjoying the creative process of learning string instruments. I enjoy helping students feel proud of their progress through supportive online lessons designed around their individual learning style and musical goals!
