Hi! I’m Chris, and I’m here to help you feel confident and prepared for the IELTS exam—whether you’re aiming for a high band score for school, immigration, or professional reasons. As an IELTS tutor, my approach is supportive, personalized, and rooted in real test experience. I help students feel more confident in their speaking, reading, and writing skills while guiding them toward a stronger IELTS band score—step by step and without judgment.
I believe the key to success in IELTS is not just learning English, but understanding how the test works and building strategies that work for each student. I focus on: Building familiarity with IELTS question types (especially in reading and speaking); Practicing test strategies, like skimming, scanning, and time management; Improving fluency and confidence in speaking through real-time conversation; Boosting vocabulary and structure in writing tasks using practical models and feedback; Creating a calm, encouraging space so one feels safe making mistakes.
Because I’ve taken language tests myself, I know how stressful they can feel—and I bring empathy and structure to every session.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
--Quick Warm-Up & Review (5–10 min) – Go over one's recent practice, review one weak point
--Main Skill Focus (30–35 min) – work on one core skill (e.g., reading strategies, speaking fluency, or writing structure), using real or adapted IELTS materials
--Timed Practice & Feedback (10–15 min) – Simulate a test question and review your performance together
--Wrap-Up (5 min) – Review key takeaways + homework or self-study plan
