About Rebecca

Hi!

Thank you so much for taking a look at my page.

I have been teaching across local primary schools in Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire for nearly 2 years. I have taught children from 4 to 11, and have a subject specialism in English, having been on the English Subject Leadership Team.

Before commencing my teaching posts, I qualified as Primary School Teacher from The University of Cambridge in June 2018. Before this, I achieved a 2:1 BA in English Literature and Drama from the University of Birmingham, having achieved A*, A and C in my A Level Subjects - English Literature, History and French, respectively. At GCSE, I achieved 13 A*-Cs, including English, Maths and Science.

I have a real passion for teaching and enjoy teaching a full range of subjects at Primary level including: English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Phonics. I also feel confident in delivering English and Maths sessions up to GCSE level, as well as Drama and History.

I really look forward to hearing from you with regards to potential tutoring. I cannot wait to see how I can help either you or your child(ren) and make learning fun and exciting.

About the lesson

Hello!
Thanks so much for visiting my page. My name is Becky, and I am a qualified Primary Teacher. I have taught for over 2 years and have experience of teaching children from Reception to Year 6 across the entire National Curriculum. My favourite part of teaching children is watching them flourish, becoming more confident in their abilities, and ultimately seeing them enjoying learning. Aside from teaching, I love the performing arts and baking, and I also regularly participate in charity runs!

I approach each topic on engaging children in an experience, whether that be through a video, pictures, or a real life experience. For example, if writing is based on 'Autumn' - I would take the child(ren) out and explore autumn to produce writing stimuli. I believe that 'experiencing' leads to further engagement and enjoyment in learning which, in turn, helps children achieve their full potential and understand the topic at hand. From there, I believe in being very positive with pupils and allowing them to see their own potential and build up their self-esteem. Children will only achieve their best if they are confident in their own ability. Giving pupils realistic, short-term targets that help achieve their long-term goals are what is needed in order for pupils to really reach their potential and become enthusiastic, life-long learners.
