I teach reading with phonics. We blend the sound of individual letters of the alphabet to make words. We don't just see the words we read. We speak and hear them, and then our reading comes alive!

Kae was one of my favorite professors! Her classes are meaty, engaged, and never boring. I had her for Creative Writing, Intro to Philosophy, Morality and Ethics, and Ethics in Society. She was honest and constructive in my writing class, offering pragmatic tools and skills that I could put into practice immediately to improve my stories and poems. I never felt criticized, only encouraged. In the philosophy classes, Kae not only knows her stuff, but she LOVES it. Her passion and creativity translate into a very engaged learning environment. She doesn’t just teach about the old, white guys whose thinking shaped our understanding of philosophy and ethics, she helps students *think* so we can apply those thought frameworks to real life, right now, today. Kae can also break down the steps to good essay-writing like no one else I know. She helps organize thoughts into concepts, and concepts into meaningful, orderly paragraphs that create a successful essay. (Just be aware that you may learn a lot more than you planned to, as she loves to teach - and once she gets rolling, she’s like a speeding train! :) ) If you’re looking for upbeat, energetic. intelligent, organized, engaged instruction, Kae is the real deal!
