About Jinhui
I am a dedicated musician and educator with a Master's degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, specializing in drumming. My journey into music began nearly a decade ago, driven by a deep passion for rhythm and expression. Over the years, this passion has not only shaped my career but has also instilled a profound desire to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for music with others.
Teaching for me is more than imparting skills; it's about inspiring a new generation of musicians. I believe in nurturing the musicality in each individual, allowing them to find their voice through the drums. This belief stems from my own experiences where my mentors played pivotal roles in my development, not just as a musician but as a person. They taught me the importance of discipline, the excitement of creative exploration, and the joy of achieving mastery over a challenging piece.
I choose to teach because I want to give back to the musical community that has enriched my life so profoundly. Each lesson is an opportunity to connect with my students, understand their unique musical journeys, and guide them through their challenges and successes. I aim to create an environment that is both educational and emotionally supportive, where students feel motivated and equipped to pursue their musical passions.
Ultimately, my goal as a teacher is to foster a lasting appreciation for music and to cultivate skilled musicians who are as passionate about playing and performance as they are about continuous learning and growth. By focusing on fundamentals and musicality, I prepare my students not only to excel in their performances but also to enjoy and understand music at a deeper level.

I specialize in a dual approach to drum instruction that balances the technical fundamentals with a strong emphasis on musicality. My teaching philosophy is centered on developing a solid foundation in drum techniques while fostering an expressive and intuitive understanding of music. This method ensures that my students not only learn the mechanics of drumming but also cultivate their own unique style and rhythmic sensibility.
Typical Length of Sessions:
Each session is thoughtfully structured to last 45 minutes. This duration is optimally designed to maximize learning and retention while maintaining engagement without overwhelming the student.
Counselling Qualifications/Experience:
With a Master’s degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, my educational background has equipped me with advanced pedagogical skills. I have extensive experience in one-on-one settings with both adults and children, as well as managing larger groups ranging from 5 to 8 participants. My approach is adaptive, ensuring that each student's educational and emotional needs are met, fostering a supportive and productive learning environment.

My drum lessons are tailored for students aged 5 years and older, catering to all skill levels. Whether you are a beginner looking to grasp the basics, an intermediate enthusiast seeking to refine your technique, or an advanced player aiming to expand your mastery, my classes are designed to support and challenge you at every stage of your musical journey.
