About Jonah
Born and raised from a musical family in New York City, I have already had the most amazing musical journey. I started playing the cello when I was 3 years old, taking lessons at the School of Strings with Amy Barston. I then went to the Special Music School, studying with Yari Bond. During high school, I went to the Juilliard Pre-College Program, and studied with Natasha Brofsky. I did my undergrad at the New England Conservatory, where I studied with Paul Katz, and now I am pursuing my Masters at the Curtis Institute of Music with Peter Wiley, Nick Canellakis, Christine Lee, and Yumi Kendall. My dream is to be in a professional String Quartet, touring the world and playing the most amazing music. I also love playing orchestral music and solo repertoire. I have attended some amazing summer festivals such as the Tanglewood Music Center, Taos Chamber Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival and School, Yellow Barn Young Artist Program, and Greenwood Music Camp. I am looking forward to getting more teaching experience.
