About Karina
I am a 2nd year B.Ed student majoring in English, I have a TEFL Certificate with experience of 1 year in teaching English online as a second language to foreigners, I have taught English, science and History in the classroom for 1 year and I am a speech and drama teacher for 4 years.

I believe in a learner-centred classroom, I put the needs and preferences of my learners first and accommodate their needs by fitting the learning content around them. I use question based methods, discussions, stories, realia and even games! I begin with an interesting introduction that is suitable to the topic, it can be a story, problem solving activity, or anything that begins the lesson by engaging the student, I then complete the lesson with discussion and questions, we use real life experiences to relate to the content to get a clearer understanding. I believe that a students religion, home language, backgrounds and cultures affect their understanding of the language and therefore I focus on acknowledging and respecting that fully.
