About Nolan
I've lived in Central Massachusetts almost all my life and began playing saxophone when I was 9. Growing up I played in many ensembles in and out of school, including the NEC Prep Youth Jazz Orchestra and the MMEA All-State Jazz Ensemble. In addition, I've gigged at various local establishments playing jazz, rock and pop. Over the years I've studied with highly-distinguished teachers such as Dan Gabel, Bill Jones, Mark Small, Brian Lynch, and I'm currently taking lessons with saxophonist Marcus Strickland at the Frost School of Music in Miami. My interests in music are jazz, funk, fusion, rock, and r&b. My biggest influences on the saxophone are Dexter Gordon, John Coltrane, and Michael Brecker.

In my lessons I will make developing a good sound on the saxophone the first priority! In addition, I can help you improve your time and rhythmic sensibility, reading, and improvisatory skills. I also teach all ages and levels!
I want you, the student, to feel that you're constantly learning and improving, and the way to do that is through focused, routine practice. I'll make sure that you leave every lesson with some sort of assignment and/or something to work on to keep you moving forward. However, I will also make sure that YOUR individual needs and interests are met.
