About Amy
I was born and raised in Munich, Bavaria to Irish parents meaning I grew up speaking both English and German. I moved to Dublin a few years ago to pursue my studies in German literature and Italian at Trinity College Dublin. Since 2016, I have been teaching Grinds in English and German although I currently solely focus on the latter.
Although most of my students in the past have been Leaving Cert students, I have some experience teaching first and second year University students.
As well as tutoring, I have some experience in translation having worked for a up and coming German company.

Before I start teaching students I need to have an understanding of their starting standard of German; their strong points and weaknesses and of course the student's goal i.e. whether they want to improve their comprehension or conversation skills etc. I dedicate the first class or two to 'testing' my student (often without their knowledge!)
My classes are very much tailored by the student's needs and at no point should they feel under pressure or nervous as some would in a large language class. Some of my students feel more comfortable being taughtin small groups although mostly I teach one to one.
I have experience teaching both adults and teenages.
