About Arno

I am currently in M1 Applied Maths at the Institute of Maths Orsay / ENSTA where I mainly study modeling and optimization. Before that, I spent three years in "Mathematics and Computer Science Applied to Humanities and Social Sciences", where I managed to obtain good results (17.5 / 20 over three years, major promo), and where I studied analysis, linear algebra, statistical modeling, programming and cognitive science. I now specialize in artificial intelligence, with an approach based on cognitive robotics and computational neuroscience (but we move away from the subject ..). I have a little experience in teaching since I was tutor for the first years of license for 2 years, it was a very good experience for me. So I come to offer my services to progress in mathematics or computer science, college level license.

About the lesson

As far as computer courses are concerned, I am a strong believer in "project-based" learning, so I will only spend a little time explaining the basics of language if the student is a total novice, then we will decide together on a project that suits the desires and the level of the pupil and we will discuss the algorithm and the organization to put in place before implementing this algorithmic through a program in Python 3 (Matlab or R, too, why not). For math classes, my approach will depend on the level of the student. I think that on every subject, it is necessary to master a certain number of notions and typical exercises, also for a student not mastering them yet, I would have a structured approach with the aim of allowing the student to be able to understand the basis of these notions and to apply them in standard exercises (which is more than enough to get good grades in the subject, by the way). Nevertheless, I will still discuss the meaning and the applications related to certain notions, in order to give a little practical sense to the study of mathematics, which, I find, is often lacking in "classical" education. For a student already familiar with the basics, I would propose mainly a discussion around the notion or domain, its place in mathematics in general, its meaning, and I propose to make links with other parts of the program, and possibly to realize practical applications. I will suggest of course to any student who wishes to do the exams in white, conditions (or not), and then correct them.
