About Annabel
I am German, Spanish and Comparative Literature student, studying at St Andrews University.
Naturally, I am a book nerd and read a lot on my spare time, which gives me a large scope of knowledge on literature and the natural ability to help students of English. This is also reflected in the fact I achieved an A* at English Literature A-Level and have gone on to study at a top university. I want to teach because I am passionate about seeing students access their full potential through that one-on-one support, which I think every child should be entitled to. Moreover, if I can help my students to enjoy literature more, through my teaching and their efforts, tutoring is a really rewarding job to do.

My lessons will focus on identifying and resolving the areas where my students‘ struggle, whether it’s understanding the questions being asked by exams boards, knowing how to analysing a text in an insightful way, or how to write essays on literature. My lessons will be quite discussion based and therefore might involve analysing a passage of a text or writing up an essay paragraph, together with my student. My main aim is to provide support on areas that aren’t given adequate time and attention on in the classroom.
